MRI-designed video system helps high school students watch open heart surgery.

Ever wondered what goes on inside an operating room? Area high school students are finding out through Live from the Heart, a virtual field trip sponsored by the Museum of Science and Industry and a local hospital.

MRI designed and installed the hospital’s operating room video production and conferencing system which includes:

Robotic cameras in the operating room

Two-way audio and video communications between
the hospital and the museum

A portable production console built around an A/V mixer and
a Tandberg codec
